Hi there,

I'm totally new at this.

So far I've installed darwin - haven't a clue what that did - and have
downloaded 70+ packages from the gnome website.

I haven't found any install information, haven't any commandline
experience and oh yeah, haven't a clue.

Could you tell me how to proceed from here - or better yet, point me
towards a "how to install Gnome on Darwin for dummies" web-page?

The thing is, in an online discussion I had the gall to say Linux was
for those who care about Linux, and OSX/Windows are for those who don't
give a f*ck. I was told this was absolutely not true in the Gnome
galaxy.

The jury is still out on that one, but I *am* curious about Gnome, and
as I'm currently living in a third-world country, I feel it would be
great if there were free and easy alternatives around for people with
my knowledge (at a keyboard since 84 but not in any way familiar with
Linux past having abused some already installed desktops a bit).

Cheers!
