files with special german characters are not indexed

Hi,

our Windows socialised users sometimes use special characters like "ö" or "ä" 
and so on in their filenames. We noticed, that these files are not indexed.

Is there a solution for this problem?

We are running the beagle-0.2.12-28 rpm from OpenSuSE 10.2 on a nfs server, 
which exports some filesystems with samba to the windows clients.
