I could not identify any problem (but I don't have any OSX system either)... Just to be on the safe side, can you make sure the "make" command is actually GNU's make version (use make -v). Otherwise, In the meanwhile (till a solution is found), to actually be able to compile, I guess you can safely try to edit the Makefile and remove lines 660 to 672 included and run make again.
