Sheesh. Good thing the user didn't select "Chinese" as their session

Yes, I'm mocking, but you see the point. Syslog should only receive
messages in the default system locale, otherwise it's an inconvenience
at the least, and a security problem at the most, since the
administrator is not able to read warning messages in the log reports.
