gtksourceview: selecting column by column

Hi,
i am working on a new IDE for vala-developers (valaDevelop).

As a C#-developer(monodevelop) i miss the possibility of selecting with 
the "Alt" key column by column.
Is it possible to get something like that in gtksourceview?
