Backport patches from master to anjal-0-1

I've picked most commits from master and committed them to
anjal-0-1. I've tested them briefly and they works well. Please
review. If they are OK for you I can push them to public git repo.

Only one commit that can't be applied to anjal-0-1 is 181634c (BUGFIX:
Moblin Bugzilla #8357 - Enable automatic mail checking), due to
missing em_account_editor_get_modified_account() in evo 2.28.
