The GNOME Foundation Membership & Elections Committee is pleased to
announce the preliminary results for Membership Vote Regarding Change to
Bylaws.

We strongly encourage everyone to look at the detailed results to verify
their vote.

These results can be challenged by sending an e-mail to
[email protected] . The challenges have to be sent before MOnday,
October 22, 2007, 23:59 UTC. Please note that these results should not
be considered final until any such challenges have been resolved.

The question was: "Should Foundation bylaws be changed in order to amend, in a way that current text of VIII 3. (a) "Each of the directors shall hold office for one (1) year." to be changed as "Each of the directors shall hold office for one (1) year, or a period of up to two (2) years as determined by the Board and announced prior to an election being called."?"

The results are:
        yes (125 votes)
	no (22 votes)

If the results are not challenged, current text of VIII 3. (a) "Each of the directors shall hold office for one (1) year." of Foundation Bylaws will be changed to
"Each of the directors shall hold office for one (1) year, or a period of up to two (2) years as determined by the Board and announced prior to an election being called."

The Committee would like to thank all the voters.
