Dear Foundation Members, a report was recently received by the Membership Committee regarding an inconsistency relating to a URL redirect used for the elections rules, as originally included and found on the Bylaws [1]. The URL in question is [2] and has been pointing - due to a human error and a technical problem in the internal web server rewrite rules file [3] - to the 2014 elections rules URL [4]. All the announcements [5], timelines and details contained on each of the ballots you received were correct and only the aforementioned URL was pointing to the wrong resource. The GNOME Foundation and all its internal bodies value openness and transparency. As such we wanted to make the membership aware of this error. If anyone has been affected by this oversight, felt confused and wasn't able to vote please report it to the Membership & Elections Committee at [6]. We would like to thank Tobias Mueller for the original report. Cheers, Andrea - on behalf of the GNOME Foundation Membership & Elections Committee [1] https://people.gnome.org/~tobiasmue/bylaws2012/bylaws.html#election-and-term-of-office-of-directors [2] http://foundation.gnome.org/electionrules.html [3] https://git.gnome.org/browse/foundation-web/commit/?id=0e53f3c07ccd011e9a6f26215a98057ececeed5c [4] https://vote.gnome.org/2014/ [5] https://mail.gnome.org/archives/foundation-announce/2016-April/msg00006.html [6] [email protected]
