As many of you know, supporting both purple2 and purple3 is very difficult. Luckily Eion Robb has put a bunch of work into make this easier for his own plugins. Well I ripped off his idea and threw it into a repository for all to use [1]. So check it out and feel free to send any updates as pull requests and for any issues enter an issue on the Bitbucket page.
