Nope.  Sorry dude, but that won't happen. :)

The correct way to handle and filter mailing lists are the special
headers, not the Subject header. Also, it just would render the subject
almost useless in a list view, since the "text tag" occupies all the
space...

The relevant headers for all gnome.org mailing lists, by example:

  List-Id: For users and developers of the GARNOME distribution of GNOME
          <garnome-list.gnome.org>
  List-Post: <mailto:[email protected]>

You can see all headers with Ctrl-U or View / Page Source in
Thunderbird, not sure though which substitute for Ctrl is used on a Mac.
I strongly recommend to filter on the relevant headers [1] for all
mailing lists. That way, personal replies won't end up being filtered
incorrectly, too. [2]  Yes, I am quite religious about proper mail
handling. ;)

[1] Evolution even got a special, handy List filter, without the need to
    care about details.
[2] And you will realize how annoying the habit of Reply To All on
    mailing lists can be sometimes... ;-)
