Solution:
Package "inotify-tools" installed.
Make these symlinks:
ln -s /usr/include/inotifytools/inotify.h /usr/include/sys/inotify.h
ln -s /usr/include/inotifytools/inotifytools.h
/usr/include/sys/inotify-nosys.h
PolicyKit now builds.

I&#39;ve dealt with inotify on Etch. I believe the issue is that Debian didn&#39;t provide the inotify header -- glibc versioning has little to do with the headers in sys/, since those are meant to match the kernel structures.<br>

You should be able to grab just the header from another system and throw it in. It might not actually work at runtime, but it should build.<br>
