I've been using kdevelop for about four months now, starting from regular C++ 
hello world examples. Although it's a KDE tool, it's been much, much better 
than anjuta for building gtkmm apps and it's auto* support is awesome since 
it doesn't force anything into your files and generally seems to leave 
modifications of configure.in, etc alone.
