To get peekaboo, you need both galago and dbus support at compile time But to heve it really working you also need galago-daemon at runtime. the libgalago in dapper is indeed too old and the galago daemon is not even packaged. But you can build clean packages of both without much pain using debian unstable packages (I haven't tried with the binary packages, it may work, building from source did work last week...).
