Here is a compilation error I get:

../config.h:95:1: error: "PREFIX" redefined
<command line>:1:1: error: this is the location of the previous
definition
make[4]: *** [gossip-dbus.o] Erreur 1

The problem seems to be PREFIX is defined in config.h and with
-DPREFIX="\"/usr/local"\"
