With my Telepathy hat on, I think it's a far better idea to put an IRC-style UI (ie, xchat) on top of Telepathy, rather than trying to turn Gossip into an IRC-style UI, which is something it will intentionally never be very good at. This approach has the benefit of making something non-IRC (eg Jabber MUC) more appealing to hardened IRC addicts by bringing it into the UI that they prefer. I think it's naive to expect you could gradually turn Gossip into a good IRC client without doing things which would make it a bad IM client. If we ever have special Telepathy interfaces for certain IRC functions, I'd expect them to be implemented in xchat-telepathy, not in Gossip. > Xavier Claessens. Regards, Rob
