documentation on gtk/GNOME language binding generation

Hi, I am just curious is there any documentation on how to create
bindings to a new language for  gtk.  I know that some gtk bindings
like gtkmm is somewhat automatically generated.  I am just curious if
there is any information or tutorial on the best way to do this.

Also, is there any use of SWIG for gtk/GNOME bindings?  Or that is not
recommended?
