It would be _really_ good if we could try and keep people focused on fixing Gnome 2.0, porting applications and getting it out of the door - in my opinion. Encouraging people to work on software that is scheduled for 6 months away, while the existing code base has serious bugs, mis-features, incoherencies, lack of accessibility etc. etc. seems a serious mistake. Yes - it's good to talk about things before doing them - but why start doing that now ? it would seem ( to me ) to encourage people to hack on speculative features for 6 months time, when the desktop they're running is in a dire state. How about delaying such discussion for a month. It would be wonderful to have the people who might otherwise be engaged improving Gtk+ 2.2 seeing and fixing the horrible things people have done with their APIs in the layers above, and doing productisation on Gnome 2.0 as a whole so we get a slick release. It'd also be great to have some Gtk+ people helping to add accessibility support to Gnome apps, to get a feel for that too. Regards, Michael. -- [email protected] <><, Pseudo Engineer, itinerant idiot
