I have an unusual problem. I wish to construct a system where there are several applications on my desktop which are of different UID/GID's than the desktop "owner." For example, I (UID 1000) will have a gnome-session, but will run firefox, evolution, and evince as UID's 2000, 3000, 4000. The other UID's are not actual users, but accounts I create just for these applications. As such, I want them all to share the gconf-daemon running from my gnome-session. How best can I accomplish this? Is this a configuration/modification to gconf or orbit? Any help appreciated.
