Non-blinking cursor in gnome-terminal

I am an Ubuntu 8.04 user. I'd like a non-blinking cursor in gnome-terminal and blinking in other apps (blinking bar cursor is ok, blinking block is annoying). I added the key "cursor_blink" in /apps/gnome-terminal/profiles/Default but it has no effect. Could anyone give advice? Thanks in advance! Regards, Pertti
