rsvg_init() crashing in release m ode in VS2005

Hello, 

recently I've been trying to make an MFC application that draws SVG pictures in the document window. I linked librsvg library as well as the needed dependancies. My problem is that it crashes in Release mode. In Debug mode it runs nice and smooth. However, when I switch to Release, it seems to crash when calling the rsvg_init() function. The error shown is "Access violation reading location". 

I have no idea what may be wrong. I've spent several days trying to fix it but no couldn't succeed. Could any kind person help me with this issue perhaps? Thanks in advance.
