  I'm not using setup.py myself for building the python bindings, but
have them built via the normal make. So I barely know about it, just 
enough to have them build a long time ago.

  Except the source, I don't really have guide for setup.py. Yes it should
allow to build both.

  The -binding list tends to be deprecated, I'm not sure many people watch
it. If you don't get a better answer try to ask on the main list in a couple
of days,
