hi, I've been messing about with the .NET Framework for Windows for a while now, It seems to take ~10Mb of memory to initalise and initiate execution of a program. I measure the 10Mb via using Task Manager (Ctrl-Alt-Del). When mono is in an almost-complete state, would its memory usage be similar ? I've got no problems with programs using a lot of memory - just my pc at the moment only only seems to read DIMMs at half what their capacity actualy is (my 256Mb PC133 will only show up as a 128 - hence I dont have much ram to spare :) How does the garbage collection technique actually work - Is it a method of waiting for the CPU to become idle before it will do a scan or does it wait for physical memory to be running low before it does a collection ? thanks, Peter -- This message has been scanned for viruses by the DIT Computer Centre MailScanner Service, and is believed to be clean. _______________________________________________ Mono-gc-list maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/mono-gc-list
