Hello Elmar, have a look at the tags on Github: https://github.com/mono/mono/releases What I read on IRC was that 4.0.0 got the full QA and took longer, and 4.0.1 was a quick release with some important fix that needed to get out there before the fully tested 4.0.0 was released. Since 4.0.0 was tagged earlier than 4.0.1, I assume that 4.0.1 is more recent.
