Looking for DNS class recommendation

Hello !

I have to do a lot of DNS queries and, I used the
build-in classes of the framework. These are
really unbelievable slow, so I am asking, who has used other
libraries and can make a recommendation probably. 
If such would allow WHOIS too, this would be the best.

The DNS class is up to 1.000 times slower then DIG.

I am on mono 2.10 under debian squeeze.
