Does mono support named pipes?

I have seen posts about that from a few years ago. Just wanted to make sure it is not supported in current version 4.2.2. I am trying to have IPC between Java app and C# running with mono. On Windows I am able to send data from Java to C# but not to read back. On Linux I am getting corruption on sent data from Java to C#. Should I give up the named pipes and try other IPC?
