It does.

However, 2.14 shipped with a wrong gconf schema causing the default  
volume to be 0, thus not resulting in sound (even though it uses  
cdda). Simply whipping the volume up fixes that. 2.16 fixed the gconf  
schema, so any newer version should just work.
