This is the first stable release of GNOME Media for 2.26. During the
last cycle, a large effort has been made by William Jon McCann and
Bastien Nocera from Red Hat to improve audio support in GNOME [1].
This work couldn't be done without PulseAudio, that we wish you get
the best of it. The new gnome-volume-control comes with a
gnome-volume-control-applet, which supersedes the one provided by
gnome-applets before.

If you still want to use the GStreamer based gnome-volume-control, you
can --enable-gstmix. The GStreamer based gnome-volume-control is
considered deprecated, but some nice updates have been done by Brian
Cameron, from Sun Microsystems, and others.

Thanks to the developers, translators, contributors and users!
