I've decided polkit is an unnecesary and also undecipherable risk when
sudo is available and stopped it running.

I'm using the xfce mount plugin for unmounting now. I think I prefer it
actually :-).

I still don't understand why the mount point flashes up for a second
rather than staying in the computer section of the sidebar.
