I sorted out that issue with a new entry in the context menu,
that launches gnome-search-tool in an external window.
And so, i can avoid having that much too wide "Path" comlumn.

Now is there a way to link the magnifying glass icon handy butonn
(standard button for search action in the menu bar)
to that gnome-search-tool ?
