I did that, but in a rather tricky way. My language is fr, but I hope that my translation is correct : - Open session manager (Control center/Extras/sessions, tab "running session". - select "metacity", and change it style to "normal" - so that it will not be restarted when you stop it. Click on "Apply". - open a shell window, and type : killall metacity; sawfish & This is the tricky part, as if you kill metacity without starting sawfish on the same line, you may be unable to get the focus in the shell window in order to start sawfish... - metacity should stop and sawfish starts and should now be displayed in the session manager. Select it and change it style to "Recycled" (translation?), then Apply. - save your session with "gnome-session-save". Alternatively, you may leave your session and check "save session" in the exit dialog. -- Gilles BERGER SABBATEL LSR-IMAG, BP 72 - 38402 SAINT MARTIN D'HERES CEDEX - FRANCE Tel: (33) 04 76 82 72 68 Fax : (33) 04 76 82 72 87 http://www-lsr.imag.fr/Les.Personnes/Gilles.Berger-Sabbatel
