Hi David, Have you checked your ~/.inputrc for any "set bell-style " statements? If you have it set to "set bell-style none" you will not hear the beeps. This does work with bash at work (in a dtterm under Solaris with CDE). I have RedHat 9 with GNOME. What do I do to get the alert sound to work in a gnome-terminal? I do have "GNOME system events" sounds working, if that is relevant. -- David _______________________________________________ gnome-redhat-list mailing list [email protected] http://mail.gnome.org/mailman/listinfo/gnome-redhat-list
