how can I restart window list applet

I am using 2.2.0.1 with RH 9.  Starting yesterday I noticed that when I 
minimized a window it totally disappears.  From my readings through gnome 
help documentation it seems that window list applet is no longer running. 

Could someone please let me know what to do to get it running again.  I'm in 
serious disadvantage since I keep minimizing my applications, by habit, and 
loosing my handle to them.
