Pls help me!!!

Dear 
       I am using Red Hat Linux 9. I want to use multiuser. So I add 2 users account. I am a new to Red Hat Linux.
       After that, I restart the machine. When I log in with other user, I can not see the desktop. I can not use anything. I have to 
restart it again.
       Then when i put in the username, I got this message 
box,{"Application "gnome-settings-daemon" (process ) has crashed due to a fatal error. (segmentation fault) It included a link saying " Please visit the Gnome Application Crash page for more information". Many messages like this one. 
       I can use only root account.
       What will I do, please?
