If you want the build order, google for a script called "cvsgnome". =
Download the script, open with your favorite editor, and scroll down till=
you see a heading that looks like this:

I assume by saying that you want "more control" you are refering to pack=
age installation and removal correct? I only ask because other than its l=
ack of package creation, garnome is one of the most powerful tools you ca=
n use to build gnome, and just about gives you all the control you would =
need.

My two cents: Use garnome to build a "base" for your system, say up to g=
nome-themes on the list mentioned above. Doing so will not take very long=
and save you from making 50 or so slackbuilds in the process. Once you h=
ave your "base" then proceed to make slackbuilds for the programs you wan=
t control over. Hope this helps you in some way.

Hi,
I want to compile GNOME for a Slackware 10.2 system and generate tgz=20
packages, because I tested Dropline, gware and gsb projects, but anyone=20
ships a GNOME that satisfied me. I don't like too the way that the=20
system is build with the GARNOME and jhbuild scripts. I want to have=20
more control.
I want only to compile the packages that are in the 2.12 start page=20
(platform, desktop and bindings), but it will save me a lot of work if=20
someone can give me the right order to build each package.
I tried to find it in the gnome discussions list, but without success. I=20
look at the BLFS (Beyond Linux From Scratch) that have informations=20
about compiling GNOME from scratch, but without success too. The=20
informations in BLFS appear to be outdated.

IT should be on the gnome.org site iirc.=20
As for the slackware packages you need to know how to=20
create them, and this info for sure you will not get on this list.

Hi,
you can grab the correct compilation order from jhbuild or garnome
building scripts, and then write your .SlackBuild and doinst.sh for every
gnome module, but it will be a lot of work. A lot less work would be
tailoring dropline, gware or frg-gnome to your needs.
