about nicolas packages

Hi,

I've  succesfully installed nicolas laplante packages (gnome 201)  on my 
slackware 8.1. 
great job.
It seems it need fam-oss with the dnotify path.
am i right?

something weird:
when I launch gnome it takes about 1 minute.
any ideas please?
