Oh yeah, the other thing I should mention is that PDF output is pretty much not-working for anything beyond English with this patch. That's nothing new; the text output code in the PDF backend is pretty much a hack and this just makes it obvious. I don't think it should be very hard to get the PDF backend doing a better job at producing PDF files that display correctly. Getting it to produce files that can be cut-and-paste or screen-read is definitely more of a challenge.
