2.8.2 has been released with some win32 build fixes, and minor ui
tidying, and the libraries have now branched.  The 2.8 trees will be
built using the tags 'gnome-2-8',  no additional releases are
expected there.   Development of 2.9 will continue on HEAD, and I'd
suggest translators work there.
