Hello,

I would like to remove Smooth from gtk-engines. The main reasons for
this are that for one it is a large code base and that the license of
some parts of it is not very clear. I think that smooth has long lost
popularity so that a removing it is fine.

Debian still seems include a gnome-themes-extras package that contains
the Amaranth, Lush, Nuvola and Wasp themes that use smooth. However
these do not seem to be present in GNOME SVN. I wonder why Debian is
shipping an old version currently.

If anyone is against removing the smooth engine, please speak up.

Benjamin
