[GNOME VFS] Nautilus viewers

I recently became interested in Nautilus and it's ability to look and act on files in archives of different types. I have been doing some reading and was hoping that you all could give me a roadmap of what was planned for inclusion on both Gnome 2.0 and Gnome 2.2 as it relates to Nautilus and file archives. I have read that it is somewhat too late to do anything for Gnome 2.0, but perhaps for 2.2 there would be something. Is this the plan, or is there a need for developers for this project?
