ok, I've added debugging in gnome-vfs-job and here's what I get..

lucas@che tmp > ./test-uri
inside async-xfer
589 gnome_vfs_job_set: locking access lock 1, op 11
606 gnome_vfs_job_set: 1 op type 11, op 0x805f9b0
735 gnome_vfs_job_go: new job 1, op 11, unlocking access lock
58 thread_routine: locking access_lock 1
1549 gnome_vfs_job_execute: 1
1554 gnome_vfs_job_execute: executing 1 11
207 gnome_vfs_async_job_add_callback: adding callback 1
162 job_notify: Locking notification lock 1
A179 job_notify: Wait notify condition 1

and it just hangs...

Any ideas?

thanks,
josh
