X11 is the old backend. Carbon is the newer one. Your best bet is probably just to get a newer copy of the System.Windows.Forms.dll where the original issue is fixed and use that. The daily packages haven't been updating recently, but 12/15/09 should still be new enough to fix it: http://mono.ximian.com/daily/ Get either monocharge or mono, unzip System.Windows.Forms.dll from it, open a mono window, and use gacutil: gacutil -i System.Windows.Forms.dll That should install the newer version for you.
