Thanks Baltasar,
Since it's deprecated, what do you suggest I use instead?

In the meantime, I'm writing the picture now to an image, instead of
directly to the screen.  This allows me to display the image (which is
really fast), then draw the telescope position.  This seems to be working
ok.
