Hi,

I ran the ximian installer, "normal" with the include development
packages option, and all went we'll. Packages were downloaded and
verified successfully. However something happened when the packages were
being configured. The system froze and upon reboot several disk slices
reported sectors that needed repair.

That being accomplished I upgraded to kernel 2.4.18 but I can't get
ximian GNOME to start. KDE starts fine. I tried to reinstall ximian
GNOME but the installer reports all packages are up to date.

Is there a way to uninstall or repair the existing installation?

Thanks,
Malcolm
