Update to XD2 caused Pango error

When I was updating to XD2 using Red-Carpet it stopped about half way
through and now no text comes up on any application.  I get Pango errors
when I run pretty much anything.

This same problem has happened consistently on both of my Redhat 8.0
machines running Gnome now.  Any ideas about troubleshooting or fixing it?
