Hello,
all I really want is install the Exchange Connector into my perfectly running SuSE 9.0
Professional with KDE-3.1. I have next to no other Gnome apps running, and no Ximian Desktop.
Unfortunately, the Connector seems to be available only through Red Carpet.
So I dowloaded and installed from ftp.ximian.com today:
lap056:/usr/local # rpm -Uvh python-numeric (from SuSE-9.0) python-gtk-2.0.0-31.ximian.2.i586.rpm rcd-2.2.0-0.ximian.8.2.i586.rpm rug-2.2.0-0.ximian.8.0.i586.rpm red-carpet-2.2.3-0.ximian.8.0.i586.rpm (all from ftp.ximian.com)
lap056:/usr/local # /etc/init.d/rcd start
lap056:/usr/local # red-carpet
I set a proxy-URL of http://wwwproxy.iese.fhg.de:81
However, still the channel is empty (even after restarting rcd and red-carpet)
The problem shows here:
lap056:/usr/local # tail /var/log/rcd/rcd-messages

I can dowload http://red-carpet.ximian.com/serviceinfo.xml just fine using Mozilla
(however, copying that into a manually created /var/lib/rcd does not change anything),
so this is not a network problem.
Can anyone show me how to get channels in red-carpet, or (even better) how
to install the Connector without Red Carpet?
Thanks for your help,
Holger Peine
