Hello,
I am not sure if this is the right place to ask this question, but I
have been unable to find any helpfull resources for my problem through
Google.
I currently have XFree86 4.1.0 installed on my Red Hat 7.2 box. I want
to upgrade to XFree86 4.2.0, since this version has better drivers for
my ATI card (or so I have been led to believe by people with the same
card).
I am running into a dependency problem when trying to install the 4.2.0
RPM's:
error: failed dependencies:
kernel-drm = 4.2.0 is needed by XFree86-4.2.0-6.62
kernel-drm comes from the kernel-drm-stub-4.1.0-0.ximian.1.i386.rpm
package, which I have aquired from Red Carpet along with XFree86 4.1.0.
I have been unable to find a kernel-drm-stub package version 4.2.0.
My question is: will such a package be available anytime soon, or can I
safely force the upgrade of XFree86, disregarding the version
discrepancy?
