I'm more than happy to test the snaps and give feedback, but my test
environment is also my production desktop so I'm a little nervous at the
moment.

Could you email a comment on each snapshot to give some idea of whether
or not it's mostly harmless (I know you can never be sure, but some
snaps are obviously borked).  This would make me more comfortable with
testing, and testing in a production environment is always useful for
getting real world feedback.
