Yes, sadly esound-devel doesn't include this, however it wouldn't be a problem is it weren't the ONLY one. libtool (on Linux, at least) doesn't need the .la files to link thinks properly, however, it will insist on them for ALL libraries if they are present for SOME libraries, which causes much breakage when compiling GNOME applications sometimes. The solution I have resorted to (it works, but it is really ugly) is the rm -f /usr/lib/*.la solution. I don't really recommend it for other people, but perhaps the: rename .la .la.old /usr/lib/*.la make rename .la.old .la /usr/lib/*.la.old will work (still a hack, but less ugly than deleting them) I pointed this out a LONG time ago (and in fact, filed a bug report in bugzilla, which was promptly, and irritatingly, resolved as either WONTFIX or NOTABUG), but it fell on deaf ears at the time. --Shahms On Fri, 2002-07-19 at 12:38, markus hammer wrote: > seems to be missing, shouldn't this be in esound-devel ? > i am just riddling how i should obtain it cause anjuta needs esd > support, at least it wont compile without this lib. dont know why > either. > > cheers markus > > -- > Markus Hammer _______________________________________________ gnome-2-snapshots maillist - [email protected] http://lists.ximian.com/mailman/listinfo/gnome-2-snapshots
