The problem is widespead, there was a warning message a couple days ago.

Down Grading to gnome terminal here - 
http://primates.ximian.com/~jacob/gnome-2-snapshots/old/
will fix the problem.

btw:    things have been broken for quite awhile now, is anyone working 
to fix them, or are we just
proving things are broken.
