Font spacing is too large in gnome-terminal

Hi All!

I've just installed a recent snapshot (20020731????) onto a machine
running at 1024 x 768 and the terminal consumes most of the screen due
to font spacing issues.

The new fonts look nice, but a single terminal shouldn't take the entire
screen. What happens if you need to run at 800x600 (or god forbid
640x480)?

The seems to be too problems. The fonts have too much space between the
letters, and the fonts have too much leading.

Can this be addressed, and should I file a bug to have this fixed.

I would class this as a serious usability issue.

have to use the command line to hose your system anymore."
